This year that should be one of celebrating and relishing in all that accompanies the duties of a Nurse/Midwife is really being put to the test. We are dealing with one of the biggest health pandemics in over 100 years. We are not only facing this head on with the level of professionalism I expected but also the bravery of heroes. The challenges for us as nurses continues to be challenged in other ways related to job security and the misfortune of many of our hospitals potentially losing physicians and for our rural communities potentially impacting all services. I commend you for showing up at work and continuing to do your best. We will prevail and look back on this years from now and applaud our efforts. Remember self-care is required to be able to do for others, go for a walk. sleep in, talk to someone. If there is more we can be doing to support you please reach out and let us know.
True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.
