The Emergency Department I work in has been losing a massive amount of experienced staff, and in turn we have hired large amounts of inexperienced nurses. In order to promote learning, team cohesion, and staff retention I am hoping to start a formalized mentorship program.
Do any of your facilities have programs like this in place already?
If they do, what were come challenges in implementing/maintaining this program?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, I love my ER and want to make it as positive a work environment as possible!
