January 3rd 2010 the NENA.ca website suffered a system failure.We have been working hard to fully to restore the website and the documentation for our members. It will take some addition time to restore all the services such as membership functions and the forums.
We are targeting to have the membership functionality fully restore on February 6th 2010.

The NENA web page mandate is to provide information to Emergency Nurses and to represent the Canadian Emergency Nursing Specialty. The web page is used for the provision of information related to the specialty of Emergency Nursing. NENA has and maintains a website located at www.nena.ca.
OBJECTIVES
POLICY
1. NENA shall retain the services of a Web host provider.
2. The NENA Communications officer and Treasurer or designate, shall maintain the core pages.
3. Members and/or external parties wishing to post information on the website pages must submit a request to the Communication Officer.
4. Any decisions requested by the Communication Officer or Treasurer of NENA, for the administration of the website, shall be made by the majority of the Board of Directors.
5. Advertising / Posting costs shall be set by the NENA Board of Directors.
6. Any editing requirements or revisions identified by Provincial Directors or membership contacts shall be submitted to both the Communication Officer and Treasurer by email.
7. Website Membership Database will be regarded as confidential and used for NENA purposes only.
8. Provincial Directors shall be orientated to their responsibilities to the website by the NENA Treasurer on a continual basis at Board Meetings:
i. To monitor the provincial database on a regular basis to ensure memberships are activated in a timely fashion
ii. To monitor the website at a minimum of monthly for accuracy and editing requirements
iii. To monitor the website message board at a minimum of monthly for relevant discussions that are occurring and enter into the dialogue. Bring concerns, questions or ideas to the BOD meetings for further consideration and action
iv. To orientate their Provincial Membership Contact person to their responsibilities to the Website
v. To initiate and disseminate emailing to their provincial members as required
vi. To authorize printing and use of provincial membership labels
vii. To ensure confidentiality of the membership database
viii. To ensure effective communication with their membership to ensure application and renewal processed are articulated
ix. To assist the NCAC from time to time in resolution of membership issues specific to their respective province.
i. To monitor the provincial database at a minimum of monthly
ii. To activate a members account within 10 days of receiving the membership payment
iii. To advise the NENA Treasurer of any editing requirements for their members
iv. To print provincial membership labels only when requested by the Provincial Director.
v. To ensure confidentiality of the membership database
