Committees: Professional Practice and Documents

PURPOSE

 

1.                  The purpose of the Professional Practice and Documents committee is to assist the NENA Board of Directors in fulfilling its responsibilities for developing, maintaining, promoting and administering Standards of Emergency Nursing Practice in Canada.

 

2.                  To update present NENA Documents as deemed necessary and aid in the development of new documents.

 

3.                  To look at issues facing the practice of Emergency Nursing in Canada.

 

OBJECTIVES

 

1.                  To monitor new trends and issues in health care that affect Emergency Nursing Practice, and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors, on matters that require further action.

 

2.                  To review and act upon items and recommendations referred from the Board of Directors.

 

3.                  To identify, to the Board of Directors, priorities in Emergency Nursing Practice and recommend associated strategic actions.

 

4.                  To review all submissions of Emergency Nursing Practice issues forwarded to the committee by Emergency Nurses in Canada.

 

5.                  To respond to individual nurses, or groups, who present to us specific issues related to Emergency Nursing.

 

MEMBERSHIP

 

1.                  The membership will consist of all Board Members inclusive of executive and provincial directors.

 

Professional Practice and documents will be an agenda item for all regularily scheduled Board of Director meetings.
